Our Story

South Calgary's quiet RV home.

Oak Shelter started as a place to park trailers without losing sleep. Years later, that's still the whole idea. We're a family-run outdoor storage facility on 146 Avenue SE — just east of Stoney Trail and a few minutes from the SE communities you call home.

We're continuing to improve the lot. Drainage that used to puddle every spring is being engineered out. The surface is being rebuilt. We'll keep you informed every step of the way, because surprises belong on the road — not at the storage lot.

When you stop by, you'll meet our on-site manager. They watch the gate, walk the property, and answer the phone. That's how it's been, and that's how it'll stay.

Common Questions

Before you pull in — here's what to know.

Do you have a dump station or water on-site?
We don't currently offer a dump station or water on-site. The closest one is located at the Flying J at 11511 40 Street SE — about ten minutes north of us.
What's the minimum term?
New customers start with either a six-month or twelve-month term. After your first term you're welcome to switch to month-to-month billing. We do offer multi-vehicle pricing — call and we'll work out the math.
Can I access my RV outside gate hours?
Standard gate hours are 5 AM to 10 PM, seven days a week. If you need access outside those hours, give us a heads-up ahead of time and we'll work it out.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept e-transfers, credit cards, cash, and cheques. New customers start with either a six-month or twelve-month term and can switch to monthly billing after that first term.
Is there snow removal in winter?
Yes. The lot is graveled and maintained year-round, including snow clearing on the main aisles and around the gate. We don't shovel out individual stalls, but we keep the lot navigable through the worst of Calgary winters.
Do I need my own insurance?
Yes. Your stored vehicle should be covered under your own RV, vehicle, or boat insurance policy. Most insurers offer a "storage" rider for the off-season at a reduced rate — worth asking your broker about.
